The Demon Potatoes’ revenge?

I came by the library to write a story about how awesome it was for me and our Butterfly-in-Chief to be at the When Words Collide Festival again this year – which it was! – except I must first once again darken your visit and mine with a tale of the strange and very possibly evil-cursed creativity of L. A. Cunningham

For our regular visitors and patrons, you most likely know about one of the highlight acquisitions of 2024 for our Memento Mori collection, Cunningham’s Demon Potatoes, the actual demon potatoes that came along as escort, and our tracking of their #JourneyToDecay. If you don’t already know that sordid and twisting tale, you can find it shelved over here in the stacks

But as a quick visual, this is what our demon potatoes are looking like now…

While at the festival in Calgary, we did check in with their progenitor and took part in a workshop that resulted in, among other things, these glorious pieces of demon vegetable art…

But with my return from When Words Collide, somehow this is the scene now…

That seems just fine and normal, yeah?

Wait, I actually acquired a copy of Cunningham’s very helpful Potato Identification Guide while down there, so we can confirm just what is going on here…

Uh oh…
