Book of the Week: What We Talk About When We Talk About Books

What We Talk About When We Talk About Books: The History and Future of Reading by Leah Price on our Head Alien’s staff picks shelf at Audreys Books.

This week’s Book of the Week is a double recommendation, first discovered by our Butterfly-in-Chief who then recommended it to our Head Alien, who has been recommending it widely. And we now recommend it to you, dear patron.

Published in 2019 by Basic Books, What We Talk About When We Talk About Books: The History and Future of Reading by Leah Price is an easy-to-read but also well-researched primer on book history.

And given my book as object leanings, also delighted that the book design has a playful spin to it as well, in particular a middle section set so that you need to give the book a turn to read it.

All in all, if you love books the way we do here at the Butterflies & Aliens Library, we think you’ll love this window into why.

Happy Reading!

– Winston
